Kyrenia Wreck

The KyreniaOn 28th February 2015 at approx. 1345 hours the Kyrenia wreck was laid to rest as part of the Islands artificial reef programme.  The programme was started with the sinking of the Nemesis in December 2013 and this is the fifth and final wreck under the present plans by the Cyprus Dive Centre Association (CDCA) and the Department of Fisheries (Cyprus).  The Kyrenia sits upright on the seabed at 23m allowing Open Water Divers to swim around her main decks at 18m.  Pictures below show divers from around the island diving the wreck minutes after she was scuttled. This will add a nice simple dive to the sites available when diving in Cyprus.
